八千代松陰高等学校

作日の夕方からホームステイが始まり、今日は丸一日ホストファミリーと共に過ごしています。
今日は、ホームステイ中にE2組の生徒から送られてきた感想の一部を紹介します。

1人目の感想

On the first day, I wasn’t able to talk very much with my host family. At that time, my buddy really stepped up and helped carry the conversation, which was a huge help. I realized that communicating during a home stay can be quite challenging.　However, on the second day, I became much closer to my host family and was able to communicate with them much better than I had on the first day. This experience made me realize that I want to become someone who can confidently communicate with people I meet for the first time so that I can play an active role in society in the future.　I also felt that people in the U.S. have a strong sense of consideration and respect for one another, which made it seem like a very comfortable place to live.

2人目の感想

現在、4人家族（女の子2人）のご家庭にホームステイしています。ホームステイが始まる前は、お腹が痛くなるほど緊張していて、「うまく話せるだろうか」ととても不安でした。しかし、ホストファミリーの皆さんは本当に温かく迎えてくださり、すぐに安心することができました。特に12歳の女の子がたくさん話しかけてくれて、初日には一緒に公園で遊びました。夢中になって遊んだので、夜はベッドに入るとすぐに寝てしまうほど充実した一日でした。最初は自分から話しかける勇気がなかなか出ませんでしたが、思い切ってホストファミリーに話しかけてみると、趣味や好きなアイドルが同じだということが分かり、一気に距離が縮まりました。その時、「勇気を出して話しかけて本当に良かった」と心から思いました。まだ理解できない言葉も多く、気を使ってもらってばかりですが、残りの時間を大切にホストファミリーとの思い出をたくさん作りたいと思います。そして、この貴重な経験を無駄にせず、今後の生活に生かせるよう心に刻もうと思います。

3人目の感想

I’m staying with a wonderful host family of two. They always speak slowly and use gestures, which makes it very easy for me to understand them. I’m very grateful for their kindness.　Today, we visited several homes and met many dogs. The dog I remember the most was named Blue. Blue kept bringing me a drool-covered toy and wanted me to play tug-of-war with it. My hands and clothes got really sticky, but it was so cute and funny that I didn’t mind at all.　Through this experience, I learned that it’s important to try to communicate using the English I already know, even if my English isn’t perfect. To my surprise, my host family understood what I wanted to say, and I was very happy whenever they understood me.
